Dr. Woyshville performs all phases of therapeutics development, with a special emphasis on neuropsychiatric, psychiatric, and sleep indications. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a Member of the Sleep Research Society.

Dr. Woyshville earned his MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1989. He served a Psychiatric Internship year at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio; the Internship year focused on Psychiatry, Neurology, and General Medicine. He was then a Psychiatric Resident at the University of California, San Diego followed by his return to Cleveland and Case – Western Reserve University, where he was a Research Fellow in the Mood Disorders Program.

Appointed to the Faculty at Case at the Assistant Professor level, Dr. Woyshville honed his skills as a clinician researcher. He founded the Clinical Drug Trials Unit within the Mood Disorders Program; he was also a founding physician of the psychiatric Partial Hospital Program and Outpatient Electroconvulsive Therapy Program, while serving as an Attending Psychiatrist on the Mood Disorders Inpatient Treatment Unit.

Subsequent to his academic tenure, Dr. Woyshville affiliated with a variety of institutional and community-based treatment settings, as well as providing forensic and independent medical evaluations for public and private agencies. He served the incarcerated mentally ill within the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He maintained a private psychiatric practice specializing in the evaluation and treatment of clergy and religious personnel. Throughout, he continued his research activities, co-founding the Cleveland Neuro-Sleep Research Institute while developing his interest in Sleep Medicine.

In May of 2007, Dr. Woyshville established North Star Medical Research, LLC as an independent, free-standing, community-based clinical research enterprise recruiting high-quality research subjects from the local at-large population of 3 million. Indications studied have grown to include Major Depressive Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Insomnia, Excessive Daytime Sleepiness with and without Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Traumatic Brain Injury, Fibromyalgia, Hypertension, and Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy. Subjects are seen across the life cycle - from children and adolescents to adults and the geriatric population. North Star Medical Research, LLC works with all the major Contract Research Organizations and Sponsors of all sizes and capitalizations.
